our founder

Tumboo ("tumbuh" in Bahasa) means grow. At Tumboo, we believe everyone deserves a daily meal that's both affordable and high-quality. Too often, we find great food that's too expensive for everyday - or low-priced ones that cut corners on quality and taste.

Our hope is simple: to become the go-to choice for everyday meals- delicious, nourishing, and more fairly priced. Our dishes are rooted in local Indonesian flavors, with a touch of international twists, and a menu that rotates daily. We hope Tumboo helps you hassle less about food, and focus more on growing the main areas of your life.

Nova Eugenia

Nova has spent over eight years making healthy food that people actually want to eat. Since 2017, she helped shape one of Jakarta's pioneering healthy restaurants, which continues to thrive today.

At Tumboo, she brings her talent for combining Indonesian roots with global inspiration. From our Miso Glazed Fish to Chicken Chickpea Curry and Fish Pomelo Dabu Dabu — her dishes are proof that healthy and delicious belong in the same sentence.

Now in Bali, Nova is on a mission to make that combination accessible to everyone.

Gian Wirjawan

Gian is the quiet force behind Tumboo. Since he was young, he's been drawn to watching ideas turn into real, tangible things.

He first crossed paths with Ivander at UC Berkeley, then continued to Columbia University in New York before working in finance and education media. Today, he runs an investment company focused on energy and natural resources, alongside his own podcast and media venture.

That same curiosity and discipline is what he brings to Tumboo: turning a simple idea — healthy, honest food — into something we can serve every day.

Ivander has always struggled to find quality food at an affordable price. Back in college, money was tight — so eating well meant grocery shopping every night and prepping his own meals.

Fast forward to today — living in Bali, the problem still remains. There's plenty of high-quality food, but the prices aren't built for everyday life. And the affordable options? Often too greasy, too salty, or made with ingredients you'd rather not think about.

Tumboo is his attempt to solve that. Starting out in Pererenan, the hope is simple: that people can eat quality food at an everyday price.
